Full Description
Roman footway, north of Insula 37. Roman walled footway adjacent to street grid. A stretch of foundation was found north of Roman building 51 at Lion Walk Site R, relating to the footway wall.<1>
The footway was also encountered at Long Wyre Street during excavation at No's 7-15 in 1979. The lightly gravelled footway was separated from the street by a shallow drain or ditch (F362).<2>
