Full Description

During excavations at Culver Street between 1981-2 and 1984-5 (ECC337), an east-west timber-lined drain was discovered situated between the north side of an east-west street (MCC733) and the adjacent footway (MCC789). At its east end the drain linked up with a north-south drain (MCC791). The drain was destroyed in AD 60/1 but survived as charred timbers.<1>
