Full Description

During excavations at Culver Street between 1981-2 and 1984-5 (ECC337), an early Roman timber water-main was discovered cutting into the street (MCC762) to the north of the barrack building (MCC754). The main was represented by a narrow slot which contained traces of decayed wood but no iron collars. The majority of the water-main appears to have been pulled up after the destruction of the Boudican revolt.<1>
