Full Description

Dedham Hall was the manorhouse for Dedham Hall manor, at least in the later medieval period. The accounts of the Campsey priory Reeve in 1414 describe a thatcghed hall, a fenced garden adjoining a two acre meadow, a cottage tenement, two barns and a barnyard, and a cheeshouse at the gates of the manor. The current Dedham Hall was built early in the 17th century on the site of the medieval manor house; a northern wing was added later in the same century. <1>
