Full Description

Probable 17th century building.

DOE survey of The Sun Inn. Grade II. Probable C17 building, extending between Maidenburgh Street and Ryegate Road. The west front to Maidenburgh Street has been rebuilt with modern brick and a modern addition on the north. But the old building remains behind and on to Ryegate Road is a gabled front, the ground floor faced in brick. Two storeys, timber-framed, plastered and weather-boarded, the roofs tiled.<1>
