Full Description

During excavations at the Gilberd School in 1984-5 a timber drain was recorded along the northern edge of the east-west military street (MCC335) to the south of Barrack Block 1 (MCC332). The drain was on the same alignment as an east-west gully at the end of the timber drain which extended south from Room 13 of MCC332. The drain was neatly constructed and appeared to run the length of the MON267 although it was incomplete. Extensive traces of decayed timber were recovered.<1>
