Full Description

A small, prehistoric pit (probably Bronze Age) was discovered during excavations at the Gilberd School site in 1984-5. The pit was cut into a thick deposit of periglacial cover loam which was spread over much of the western two thirds of the area. A second pit dated by a Late Bronze Age pottery sherd was located next to it (MCC329).<1>
