17th century house and tenements now re-numbered No 32-33

RCHME survey of house and two tenements, Claudius House and the next house. 'The east part of the house has a moulded eaves-cornice with carved modillions and below it a plaster frieze with vine enrichment. The W part has a coved cornice of plaster. Inside the building is a late 17th century staircase with close string, twisted balusters and newels with turned pendants' <1>

DOE Survey of No's 62 & 62A Stanwell Street. Grade II. Late C17, timber framed and plastered, two storeys, one dormer to front, the roofs tiled, cellars. The front and west side have moulded eaves cornice with carved modillions in pairs, plaster frieze below with vine decorations. <2>

An inspection of No's 62-3 Stanwell Street was made during renovation of the existing building and construction of a new 2nd storey. According to builders, a fire-place at first-floor level had been lined with blue-and-white 'Dutch' tiles (now removed)<3>(No grid reference is provided for this observation nor map, it is assumed that Nos62-63 refer to the old numbering system and that this report refers to the same property as above<3>
