Full Description

Metalling of a north-south Roman road was observed during a watching brief on the site of a new supermarket in Queen Street. Sections in the side of a petrol tank showed that the north-south street to the south (MCC1770) was not primary but overlay a substantial accumulation of material including what appeared to be floors.<1>
