Full Description
A watching brief was held during the construction of a supermarket along Queen Street. The site revealed metalling of a north-south road which overlay a substantial accumulation of material including floors revealing that the street was not primary.<1>
In March 1938, the back entrance to the Omnibus Garage on Queen Street was made and a long trench for a drain was cut eastwards from Queen Street (Hull says this could still be traced by manhole covers in 1958). Metalling of a Roman Street was recorded.<2>
