DOE survey of No's 71 & 72 High Street. Grade II. Earlier building refronted in brick 1793, 3 storey, cellars. The front wall is finished with a coping. No 71 has a 3 window range of double hung sashes; ornamental stucco cornice between upper 2 storeys; entrance doorway with pilasters, cornice, 6-panel door, panelled reveals. No 71 has 1 window range of double hung sashes with glazing bars.<1>

The RCHME survey lumps No 69-72 High Street together. The building 'is of three storeys, partly timber-framed and partly of brick; the roofs are tiled. The back wing of the front block was built early in the 17th century and further South is a block of the same date and formerly detached; the block between these is probably of late 17th century date and early in the 18th century the block fronting the street was rebuilt. There are extensive modern additions. The N front is of brick and has an early 18th century moulded band between the two lower storeys. Inside the building are some 17th century ceiling beams and two doorways of the same date with heavy frames. Condition - Good'.<2>
