Full Description

An east-west Roman wall foundation discovered during excavations off West Stockwell Street in 1975. The foundation had been almost completely removed by a 0.9m deep robber trench leaving only a thin layer of mortar at the bottom of the trench. The uppermost surviving layer of Roman occupation lay at 9.42m OD. A Roman floor was visible in the south side of the robber trench.<1>
