Full Description

During excavations at the Cups Hotel site in 1973-4 (ECC346) the remains of a medieval building were examined (CAT Building 155). All that survived was a shallow patchy foundation of mortar and septaria which appeared to have been the base of a rear wall of a house which fronted onto the High Street. To the north of the foundation were some small shallow pits (see MCC1211).<1>
