Full Description

During excavations at Culver Street between 1981-2 and 1984-5 (ECC337), an inhumation burial was discovered underneath the north aisle of a late Roman building. The body had been buried without a coffin and placed with the head to the south. The grave was almost complete apart from the skull and some bones of the feet. A second burial lay to the east (see MCC1121).<1>
