Description

RCHME survey of the Angel Hotel. The building 'is modern except for the cellar and a two-storied block at the back which is of early 17th century date. The upper storey of this block projects on the W side on two brackets richly carved with foliage and a bearded head. Inside the building is some original panelling and the cellar has mediaeval walls of rubble; in one corner is a round stone well-shaft and there is a stone doorway with chamfered jambs and four-centred head; there are three later openings of brick and the cellar has heavy ceiling beams and joists. Condition- Good'.<1> (Now demolished)
