Description

DOE Survey of No's 16, 17 and 17a East Hill. Grade II. Built early 16th century with 17th century wing at rear. Two storeys, cellars, timber framed and plastered, the roofs tiled. The upper storey projects on the front on brackets, one original curved, one late 16th century shaped. The timber framing is exposed and there are five 2-light original windows (now blocked) under the eaves with moulded frames and mullions. Other windows are C18 and C19 and the ground floor has two small shop bay windows. The chief feature of the front is the fine C16 door of 12 moulded panels with lozenge shaped enrichment in each panel <1>
