Description
A watching brief was held at No 26 North Station road during the excavation of stanchion holes across most of the site as part of foundation work for a new building. Many of these holes cut through the remains of a Roman house which appeared to include a range of rooms with cross passages and also passages or narrower rooms on the side. One of the latter included a red tessellated pavement.<1>
