Description
A watching brief was held during the excavation of a trench, dug east-west across a lawn on the corner of Clarendon Way and North Station Road. "The top 0.2m consists of make-up for the pavement (excluding the lawn). Below this is 0.6m of orangey sandy topsoil with no features visible in it. The trench was later extended by 2m into the road. No indications were noted of a metalled road or of any other archaeological features".<1>
