Description
A watching brief was held during the excavation of a hole dug into the pavement on the corner of Essex Hall Road and North Station Road. The hole measured approximately 1.5m x 3.0m and was about 2m deep. The area was found to have been badly damaged by modern services but on the south side the original stratigraphy was intact. No features were noted.<1>
